This year is very important for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts as the company will celebrate its 40th anniversary. It’s very symbolic that in 2013 Mövenpick will reach a milestone in its development the company will debut in Asia. Mövenpick has already signed the agreement, according to which the hotelier will open two new hotels in Thailand and China. The famous Swiss hotelier will open upscale hotels in Enshi City in China and in Hua Hin, Thailand.
The 250 guestroom hotel in Enshi City will mark the debut of Mövenpick in China. The company’s management hopes that Chinese consumers will be interested in Chinese products and services, and wants to find their niche in the country. The five-star hotel will be located in a 14-storey building and is to open already this summer. The hotel is located in the central part of the business district of the city and is just 2.5 kilometres away from the airport. Mövenpick Hotel Enshi will also become the first five-star hotel in the city. The facilities of the hotel include a club lounge, a large 515 sq. m. ballroom, two restaurants, eight meeting rooms, a spa centre, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, and a bat.
The hotelier doesn’t plan to limit itself to the hotel in Enshi, and plans to open three more hotels in China by 2015. These will be a hotel on Phoenix Island (Sanya), a hotel in Jiading (Shanghai), and a hotel in Chifeng City (Inner Mongolia).
The plans of Mövenpick about Thailand are even more ambitious the company will open eight hotels in the country within just three years. The announced projects include two hotels in Chiang Mai, the 190 guestroom resort in Hua Hin, a hotel in Pattaya, and hotels in Bangkok and Koh Samui.
The resort in Hua Hin, which is located in the West Coast of the Gulf of Thailand, will be located in a popular leisure tourism area famous for its clean beaches, hill hiking, and tremendous golf courses.
