Provincial Indonesian hotel operators Dafam, Zuri Hotels, and Kagum have decided to make an ambitious plan come true. The companies say they are going to open as many as 27 hotels throughout the country this year!
The hotels will belong to different categories, from budget accommodations to luxury hotels. They will be located in 10 different cities, in both major and second-tier ones like Central Sulawesi or Luwuk. According to Dafam Hotel Management, they are to operate 4 new hotels out of 27. These will be hotels in Subang and Bekasi (West Java), in Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan), and in Yogyakarta. The company is particularly interested in resort in Subang as this destination is well-known for its Ciater hot springs. They also hope to attract tourists interested in heritage tourism.
Dafam is a quickly developing hotel company that opened 8 hotels in 2011-2012. Among them are two star properties opened under Vio Hotels and Marlin Hotels brands, hotels under the three star Dafam Hotels brand, and Grand Dafam Hotels properties (4-star hotels). In 2014, the company plans to open a five-star resort in Bali Avani Resort and Spa Bali.
Zuri Hotel Management is to open 5 hotels this year. The hotels will range from budget to upscale properties, and will operate under the Zuri Express, Grand Zuri, and The Premier brands. The new hotels are to appear in Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Muara Enim, Kuta, and Palembang.
Finally, Kagum Hotel Management plans to add 18 hotels to its portfolio. The hotels will be mostly located in major cities of the country, such as Jakarta, Makassar, and Semarang. The company is also very interested in Bontang (East Kalimantan), where growing oil and gas sector needs more accommodations.
