Accor, a famous hotelier with properties around the world, has launched a new network called Women at Accor Generation. The main aim of this campaign is to increase the number of females working in the company. The company’s objective is to have 50% females in the position of Accor’s hotel manager by 2015. Currently, the per cent of females in the company is 35%.
Women at Accor Generation accepts both men and women, and the network’s aim is to reach 3,000 members globally by 2015. The head of the network is Sophie Stabile, a global chief financial officer at Accor. She says that most of the activities will be targeted at mentoring, training, sharing experiences, and collaboration with the aim of promotion of females to managerial positions.
Even though the number of female graduates is higher than the number of male graduates, women are still the minority when it comes to corporate managerial positions. However, studies show that mixed teams are more efficient and innovative, so Accor wants women to feel more confident.
Women at Accor Generation is structured as a committee and has several regional bureaus in eight geographic regions Asia Pacific; Africa; the Middle East; Latin America; North America; Southern Europe; Central, Northern, and Eastern Europe; France.
