IHG Continues its Expansion in South Korea

News InterContinental Hotel Group continues its expansion in Asia and announces the opening of its third Holiday Inn hotel in South Korea. The largest hotel group in the world by the number of hotel rooms is going to open a hotel in Incheon Songdo. Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo will be launched according to an agreement with OK Center Development Co. Ltd.

The hotel is expected to start operating in the middle of 2014. This will be the first hotel by IHG in Incheon Songdo, the first free economic zone in South Korea. At the same time, this will be the third Holiday Inn hotel in the country as the hotel already has Holiday Inn Seongbuk and Holiday Inn Gwangju.

The hotel will have 202 guestrooms, and will be wonderfully located in Songdo Central Park – a large green oasis in the centre of a huge international hub full of business offices. The Central Park subway station is located not far away from the hotel. Nearby are Muui Island and Ulwang-ri. The hotel will feature a convenient access to other important destinations, such as Incheon International Airport, which is mentioned by numerous awards, and the Seoul Metropolitan areas, which are approximately 40 minutes away by car. Therefore, this hotel will be a wonderful choice for both business and leisure visitors. As Incheon Songdo develops, near the hotel will appear shopping malls, medical centres, and various entertainment facilities.

Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo will be located in a 12-storey building with the total area of 16,000 sq. m. The hotel will feature rooms and suites, a lounge bar, an all-day dining restaurant, a ballroom suitable for large events and meetings, a lobby bar, a fitness centre, and various business facilities. According to IHG spokesman, the hotel will provide high quality accommodation and service at great value, so it will follow the brand’s success in Asia Pacific. Currently, there are 112 Holiday Inn hotels in the region and additional 70 to open within 3 years.
