Meliá Hotels International has announced the opening of the first Innside hotel in Hamburg. The hotel will be opened in accordance with the agreement with WGF AG, a German real estate company. The Spanish hotelier will manage the 205-guestroom hotel in Hamburg under a lease agreement.
The new hotel features truly great location right in the heart of the city, just 800 meters away from the main railway station of Hamburg. The famous City-Süd business and financial district is located west from the hotel. The property will be connected with the new development area known as Hamburg HafenCity.
The construction of Innside hotel in Hamburg is to start in 2013. The hotel will greet its first guests in 2015. Due to its location, it’s very easy to guess that hotel will be targeted mostly at business users. Therefore, the property will be equipped with a fitness centre, a restaurant with a bar, and various meeting facilities that provide business travellers with modern elegant design and high tech equipment. The Innside brand is popular in Germany, and this is one of the reasons why Meliá plans to open 3 additional hotels under this brand in the country. All the hotels will start operating between 2013 and 2015. These will be accommodations in Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, and Wolfsburg. Regarding Innside hotels outside Germany, Meliá will also open hotels in Copenhagen (Denmark) and Manchester (UK).
Nowadays Meliá operates 22 hotels throughout Germany. The hotels operate under the tree brands – TRYP, Meliá, and Innside. The hotelier is particularly interested in major European cities. For instance, Meliá plans to double its presence in Germany, because its hotels located in this country feature the growth of RevPAR of 7.4% during first six months of 2012.
