Devotees of true luxury may enjoy hearing that Maria Cristina hotel in San Sebastian (Spain) accepts visitors again after a large scale restoration. The hotel opened just in time to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
The hotel belongs to Starwood and is included into its Luxury Collection. As Roeland Vos, the president of Starwood Hotels & Resorts for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, mentions the extensive renovation of the hotels is a part of the global strategy of Starwood. The internationally famous hotelier plans to make big investments into its Luxury Collection hotels in order to maintain high level of luxury and keep visitors satisfied.
Maria Cristina has undergone a serious renovation. The works lasted nine months and were performed in accordance with the project by a French architect Charles Mewès. The architect tried to maintain feminine atmosphere of the hotel and preserved soft curves. Guests may enjoy beautiful public spaces that are decorated with pillars made of marble and soaring ceilings. Such colors as copper, champagne and mocha were chosen at the main palette for the hotel.
The hotel offers 107 spacious guestrooms and 29 posh suites that have been renewed. Maria Cristina now has new dining facilities. Guests are recommended to visit Tse Yang restaurant dedicated to haute Chinese cuisine. The first Tse Yang restaurant appeared in Madrid 15 years ago. There is also Easo Restaurant that features Basque, organic and international cuisine. Finally, Dry San Sebastian is a restaurant and bar opened as a result of collaboration between the hotel and the Dry Martini Group.
