The Olympic Games, which are starting already this week, are such a highly anticipated event that hotels change their regular design to a more sports oriented one. Dorset Square Hotel is no exception, but it has selected quite an unusual sport.
Cricket has appeared only once as an Olympic sport and this was more than a century ago, but this sport has a connection with Dorset Square Hotel – some of the 38 guestrooms of the hotel in London face the garden that once was the first cricket ground of Thomas Lord. The hotel has been also refurbished and now features signature style of Kit Kemp. Guests will be surely delighted to see art brought from all over the world, bold colors and bespoke pieces. Moreover, each bedroom in the hotel has its own individual design. The hotel now has quite rare facilities, such as a drawing room for guests with a cozy fireplace. Visitors of the hotel are also welcome to visit The Potting Shed bar & restaurant that features rich menu full of delicacies.
Dorset Square Hotel was originally launched by Tim and Kit Kemp in 1985 as Firmdale Hotel. The two re-acquired the property in 2002.
