Hyatt Hotels has concluded an agreement with Mohammed A. Al Swailem Co., according to which the famous hotelier will open Hyatt Regency hotel in Riyadh. This will be the seventh Hyatt Regency property in Saudi Arabia and the second Hyatt hotel in Riyadh in development. Despite quite a large number of hotels in pipeline, currently only one Hyatt-branded hotel operates in the country. This is Park Hyatt hotel in Jeddah opened in 2009.
The new hotel will start working in the middle of 2013. Hyatt Regency hotel in Riyadh will have 257 guestrooms. Among them will be 37 luxury suites, which size will range from 30 sq. m. (322 sq. ft.) to 230 sq. m. (2,475 sq. ft.). The hotel will be also equipped with a large ballroom (550 sq. m. or 5,900 sq. ft.), a lobby lounge, a Regency Club lounge, space for meetings and various events, and two restaurants. The hotel will be also equipped with a male spa center, a large (220 sq. m. or 2300 sq. ft.) fitness center for men and women, and a swimming pool. The design of the hotel is developed by ONG&ONG and Erga.
The hotel is located in Al Olaya district on Olaya Road. The hotel, which will be a standalone building, is located close to the business part of Riyadh. Close to it are hosted such well-known landmarks as the Kingdom Centre and Al Faisaliah Tower. Due to a beneficial location the new accommodation may become popular among business travellers, who are very frequent in Riyadh – a major destination for various exhibitions, corporations’ offices and government authorities.
Hyatt plans to continue collaboration with the local companies and wants to open more accommodations throughout Saudi Arabia.
