The United Arab Emirates never cease to amaze us with their new high-scale projects that are truly worth a science fiction movie. This time the new project will be particularly appealing to football fans and, in particular, fans of the famous Spanish club Real Madrid. There is a project of building a large entertaining center that will contain a theme park and a resort dedicated to the club. The resort will be located on a separate manmade island.
The creators of the project and its main investors are Ras al-Khaimah ruler Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr al Qasimi and Luxembourg-based Rak Marjan Island Football. They both are investing $1 billion into this large scale project, the opening of which is scheduled on January 2015. The full name of the resort will sound as Real Madrid Island Resort.
The park will be opened in a 12 hectare island that will contain a large roller coaster, a museum dedicated to football, a virtual football with holograms, a large football stadium that can accommodate up to 10,000 viewers, and a luxury hotel with residential area. The hotel in Ras al-Khaimah will contain of 450 guestrooms, and the residential area will offer 400 apartments and 48 villas for sale.
