Legoland has opened its first hotel in the UK. Legoland Windsor Resort hotel in London suburb attracts guests not only by high quality service, but also by original design inspired by the world renowned toy building bricks.
This is the first Legoland hotel outside Denmark. It features 150 guestrooms, and the total cost of the project estimates £25 million (US$39 million). In order to create the unique design of the hotel, a team of 45 designers and model makers used as many as 80 million of Lego bricks. The territory of the hotel includes 1,600 Lego models, and the hotel’s entrance is decorated with a huge and heavy (6 meters tall and 100 kg weighted) smoke-breathing dragon. Step into the hotel and you will see a check-in front desk that is located just in front of a wall made totally from Lego figures (6,000 figures in total).
The hotel has three types of guestrooms in the following themes – Adventure, Pirate, and Kingdom. As the hotel is mainly targeted on family rest, all rooms have one large double bed and a smaller bedroom with a rollout bed and two bunk beds. All rooms are friendly to visitors with small children.
Dining facilities are represented with Bricks restaurant that has several food stations – rotisserie bar, salad bar, and wok. There is also Lego Skyline bar made in signature Lego colors and notable for its panoramic views of “Lego Kingdom”. To the service of guests are also an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and meeting facilities.
