Island Hospitality Management announces that the country opts for more hotels and wants to double their number within next 3-5 years. Currently on the territory of Iceland work 76 modern hotels that belong to 5 various ownership groups. The plan is to increase the total number of hotels to 150.
In order to increase the number of hotels, Island Hospitality plans to focus on strategic relationships with various owners. It’s not a secret that a large part of hotels in the country belong to individual owners. Thus, they often provide outdated services and require more sophisticated reporting and operating systems. The company plans to open a range of 200-250 guestrooms upscale hotels with full service and extended stay options. These hotels may become the core competency of the country.
Of course, not all hotels’ owners can afford such renovations. Island is a financially strong country, so it is able to co-invest with owners to renew its hotel industry. Within next 2 years will be started a series of investments and renovations that will make Iceland more attractive for business and leisure tourists.
