Hainan Airlines, the biggest airline provider in China, has announced the building of a hotel in the capital of Belgium. For this purpose the company will invest as many as 50 million of Euro (around US$65 million). The building has already started and the hotel will open its doors close to the middle of 2013.
The company is definitely in economic prosperity at the moment. Hainan Airlines was also named among the top five safest airlines in the world in 2011. In order to open a hotel in Brussels, the airline had to spend two years to get a building permission from the Belgian government. This will be not the first hotel by the airline in the capital of Belgium as Hainan Airlines already owns two 4-star and one 3-star accommodations there with 256 guestrooms in total. The new hotel will have 181 guestrooms and has all chances to become the first 5-star hotel.
The company plans opening hotels in other popular locations in Europe. Most probably, these will be hotels in the cities that are connected with Beijing and Shanghai by Hainan Airlines. Currently these are Brussels, Budapest, Zurich, Berlin and Moscow.
The building of a new hotel will be done by a German company. When opened, the hotel in Brussels will create 200 new jobs.
