Grand Hotel in Colmore Row is reported to be reopened after a large renovation, the total cost of which estimates £30 million. The developers have already revealed the new look of the famous hotel in Birmingham.
The main aim of the renovation team was to return the iconic destination its former glory. The hotel, which was closed 10 years ago, will be turned into a high class 5-star hotel with 152 guestrooms and 8 special suites.
As the hotel’s owner says, they will surely create a comfortable place with all modern amenities, but the Grand is not only about beds. This place is full of history and many prominent people have met there. They want to create not only a great hotel, but rather a great place for meetings where inhabitants of Birmingham can meet and spend some very nice time together. The hotel is told to start operating by Christmas 2013.
The owner of the hotel pays much attention to the building’s facade. This is a magnificent example of high Victorian architectural style and so many efforts are applied to keep the facade’s original shape and style.
