Marriott has announced it will debut in Serbia by opening a hotel in Belgrade. The 107-key property will start operating in 2014 and will be managed by the internationally famous hotelier according to the agreement with PFB Properties.
The first hotel in the country, Marriott Belgrade City Center will have an advantageous location in the heart of the old part of the city. Near the hotel are located National Theater, the Republic Square, and National Museum. The distance to the city’s airport, Nikola Tesla Airport, is 17 kilometers, but it can be conveniently reached by the Belgrade’s amazing metro system.
Currently the company is very interested in expanding in the Southeastern Europe, so the opening of a hotel in Serbia falls under that strategy. The hotelier will use its Courtyard by Marriott brand to run the property. The newest and upgraded prototype of the brand will be used in Belgrade. The company wants to attract primarily international business clients who come to the capital of the country.
The hotel will feature modern design, functional rooms and signature services. The rooms in this hotel will mostly have Mediterranean colors and lots of natural light. Each guestroom will be equipped with space for rest and for work, spa-style bathroom, and flexible furniture. The hotel’s lobby will have dining and meeting facilities, so business customers will get what they need fast. Lobby will be also equipped with a large GoBoard screen with newest information including weather and news. There also will be a restaurant, and a 24h market with salads and sandwiches.
