Longleat Buys Former Von Essen Hotel in Bath, the UK
Longleat Enterprises has bought its second property from the former Von Essen portfolio. A wonderful 21-guestroom hotel in Bath cost the new owner £3.5m.
The first purchase completed a bit earlier than this one concerned Bishopstrow House hotel. The 31-guestroom property was sold for £6m. These hotels are first properties of this kind in the portfolio of the new hotelier. The company has been always known as the owner of Longleat safari and adventure park. The total number of guests per year reached 1 million. Both hotels are located not far away from the park. This was the main reason for purchase.
Von Essen Homewood Park Hotel in Bath is the eight property sold after the bankruptcy of Von Essen. The total cost of portfolio for sale reached £250m in April.
The chief executive of Longleat has already commented the purchase telling they hope the new hotel will only improve the position of the company’s adventure park. They will offer their visitors to stay in this beautiful hotel and enjoy high quality service in order to make their rest even more comfortable and memorable.
A hotel in Bishopstrow will undergo a renovation, after which this property will get a new Spa center with two swimming pools (an indoor one and a heated outdoor one). The hotel will be also equipped with a tennis court. The hotel will be ready before Christmas and will participate in all special programs and discounts of the company. The sum of investment into this property estimates £1m. No details about renovation of Homewood Park are available at the moment, but the company plans to invest around 1 million into it.
