Starwood will open a hotel in Singapore under the Westin brand in 2013. The hotel will be a part of a mixed use development and will occupy floors 32-46 of Asia Square Tower. This hotel will also have the highest lobby in this city.
Westin hotel brand is known for its sophisticated and elegant style, as well as urban design. The hotel in Marina Bay is a part of Starwood’s program dedicated to building of a strong portfolio in Asia. According to Chuck Abbott, vice president of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Southeast Asia, the company is interested in both resort and urban locations.
The new hotel will have 305 guestrooms, the Heavenly Spa by Westin, a large 480 sq. m. banquet hall, and a signature Westin Workout gym. Dining facilities will be represented by the all-day dining Seasonal Taste restaurant and Gastro Bar Specialty Restaurant. The hotel’s pool will be built on the 35th floor.
Westin is known for its eco-friendly initiatives and so this hotel is a perfect choice for Asia Square Tower 2, which has already got such awards as BCA Green Mark and LEED Platinum pre-certification. All rooms in this hotel will be decorated using eco-friendly materials and will be equipped with various sensors. For example, motion sensor will detect movements and adjust energy-saving mode. All showerheads and faucets have water-saving features, and so on. Even furniture, beds, and mini bar are “green label” products.
