Seems, hotels in Europe have almost got out of problems caused by the economic crisis. At least the price for a standard double room in 50 most popular destinations in Europe has reached the level of October 2008 - £117.
Average rates grew up in 47 from 50 most popular European destinations. In the UK the rates remained steady except for hotels in Edinburg, where they rose by 15%.
Among the biggest risers are hotels in Cannes (29% up) and Nice accommodations (22% up). In May rates in hotels in Turin rose by 28%, while hotels in Barcelona feature the rise of 21%. Among other leaders in terms of the rise in hotel rates are Geneva and Venice. By the way, in May these two destinations were the most expensive European destinations as well. In order to stay for a night there visitors had to pay £224 and £209 respectively.
UK hotels rates are surprisingly low comparing to the mentioned destinations. Hotels in Blackpool, Bristol, and Glasgow added only 1% in April. Average rates here estimate 67, 82 and 92 pounds respectively. Hotels in Manchester and Sheffield even dropped in price to £67 and £68.
