Carlson continues its expansion on Indian hotel market and starts new joint venture with Chanakya Hotels Private Ltd. With this partnership Carlson plans to expand its portfolio in this country from 11 hotels in India to 50 within next 10 years. This will be mainly done with the help of County Inn hotel brand that will be remade to fit the taste of Indian guests.
Country Inn is a midscale brand targeted on both business and leisure travellers. Carlson will open 5 properties already this year. These will be a hotel in Gurgaon, a hotel in Satbari, and accommodations in Mussoorie, Ajmer and Mysore. These properties will be opened under the existing Country Inn brand as the accommodations of the new generation start appearing in 2012.
The new Country Inn brand will be tightly connected with Indian culture and modern life. The inner decoration of all hotels will be reviewed and changed in accordance with the traditions of this region. This concerns the choice of color schemes, fabrics, inner decorations, beverage concepts, food and so on. The hotels will also offer additional services not present in all other hotels by this brand. The main concept and design of new Country Inns is created by the London-based company Virgile and Stone.
Carlson plans to open Country Inn hotels mostly in secondary cities of India and resorts.
