Mövenpick wants to open a hotel in Northern India. At the moment the future 124-key Mövenpick Dharamshala Resort & Spa is at the stage of design. The accommodation is scheduled to be opened in 2013.
The hotel will be located in Kangra Valley, 2400 meters above the sea level. The property will be situated in a picturesque place with the Himalayan Mountains and beautiful forests surrounding it. The hotel plans to attract visitors by its health programs and the key role here will play a large 2,500 sq. m Spa center specializing in Ayurvedic procedures. Guests of the hotel will be offered to try detox programs, yoga therapies, meditation and other treatments.
The owner of the property is Kamakhya Hospitality Services Pvt. Ltd. The company tries to use the maximum of local materials in the production of this hotel. When it starts operating, the energy will be produced using wind, hydro, and solar power. The fruit and vegetables for the hotel will be grown in the organic farms nearby. Guests of the hotel in India will be even able to visit these farms to know more about the lifestyle of local people and their traditions.
Rooms in Mövenpick Dharamshala Resort & Spa will range from 45 to 70 sq. m and will face the Dhauladhar Mountain.
According to the Mövenpick’s CEO Jean Gabriel Peres, this is going to be a truly unique hotel, so now they are involved into all stages of the hotel’s creation in order to make it as good as possible.
The hotel can be reached by a 1-hour flight to Gaggal from New Delhi and then followed by a forty-minute drive in a car.
