Oslo-based Choice Hotels Scandinavia has announced the creation of its new brand Comfort Xpress, which is targeted to savvy clients.
First properties under this brand will become a hotel in Copenhagen and a hotel in Oslo. All Comfort Xpress hotels will combine urban hi-tech design with lots of concrete, music influences, and cheap rates. Choice Hotels Scandinavia also possesses another hotel brand named Comfort. The new brand is more self-service oriented and offers many extra services at additional price. For example, you can order fresh towels for $6 and housekeeping for $17. Currently the average cost of a hotel room in Oslo reaches 800 kroners (around 136 US dollars) per night.
The first property by the new brand, the 180-key Comfort Xpress hotel in Oslo, opened this month. The accommodation features automated check-in process, with which guests do not need to visit the front desk. Guests can even use their cell phones to check in by using OpenWays’ Mobile Key access system. If your cell phone is not compatible with it, you can purchase an RFID keycard in the lobby kiosk. The system is developed by Ariane Systems.
