RBS or Royal Bank of Scotland has just sold 4 Hilton hotels in its ownership. The sum of the contract exceeds £100 million.
The hotels, which have been sold by RBS, are Hilton Brighton Metropole hotel in East Sussex, Hilton hotel in Manchester Airport, Hilton hotel in Warwick, and Hilton St Anne’s Manor hotel in Bracknell. After the sale these hotels will be still managed by Hilton as the leasing agreement with the famous hotelier runs through 2021.
All hotels are purchased by one company – a private real estate firm Marcus Cooper Property Group. By the way, together with Hilton Warwick the company will get a plot of land of 20 acres dedicated for residential development.
These hotels were purchased by Royal Bank of Scotland in 2001 together with other 7 hotels by Hilton. At that time the total cost of all 11 hotels estimated £312 million. In 2010 RBS sold one more hotels from that property for £25 million – Hilton Hyde Park hotel in London. The only remaining Hilton hotels in RBS portfolio at the moment are Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor and Hilton Glasgow.
