Famous Mariott hotel brand has decided to improve its position on the Middle East hotel market by opening Residence Inn hotel in Jizan city (Saudi Arabia). The launch of this 83-key accommodation is scheduled for 2012.
The hotel, that is going to be controlled together with Abdulrahman Saad Al-Rashid & Sons Co. Ltd, will include a 129-room courtyard and a trading center with the total area of 58,000 square meters.
Residence Inn hotel is currently under construction. It will be located in one of two adjacent towers in the northern part of Jizan. Near the hotel there are the Jizan University and the local municipality. The hotel will offer 83 suites with one or two beds. Residence Inn is primarily targeted on tourists who stay for a long time (5 nights and more), so each room has a kitchen and a separate living area. The longer visitors stay in this hotel, the smaller rate per day is applied. In the hotel lobby there are a meeting room, a coffee shop, a self-service lounge and a kiosk with snacks. Courtyard is the place for a pool, a restaurant and a juice bar.
Currently Saudi Arabia is considered an attractive spot for expanding hotel portfolios as this country shows a steady increase in tourists. Experts forecast over a 6.5% per year growth till 2014. Jizan is a fast developing economic region of the country that attracts not only businessmen, but also diving enthusiasts who seek magnificent coral reefs and spectacular underwater life.
