The historic Pera Palace hotel in Istanbul announced its official reopening which took place on September 1st this year.
The hotel reopened after a two-year € 23 million renovation. Now the hotel is restored to its original splendor and offers the guests 115 comfortable rooms (including 15 suites) named after the most famous guests, as well as 21st century service and facilities.
Located in Istanbul’s main entertainment, shopping and business center, the Pera Palace hotel overlooks the Golden Horn bay. According to ftnnews.com, the hotel began in 1892 and became the first luxury hotel of the Ottoman Empire.
Designed by the architect Alexander Vallauri, the hotel in Turkey combines neoclassical, modern and oriental architectural styles. Moreover, the hotel was the first building in Istanbul, excluding Ottoman palaces, to offer electricity, hot running water and an elevator made of cast iron and wood.
The Pera Palace hotel's amenities feature fully equipped meeting rooms, a modern conference hall which can be divided into three sections, and the 380 sqm Pera SPA center with sauna, jacuzzi, steam bath and treatment rooms.
