This year, England celebrates the 120 th anniversary of Agatha Christie’s birth. Rocco Forte’s Brown’s Hotel, which was the prototype for the Bertram Hotel in the eponymous detective, is also participating in celebration.
Rocco Forte’s Brown’s Hotel is the oldest London hotel located in the heart of prestigious district Mayfair. It features 117 stylish rooms, including 29 luxurious suites decorated in classic English style.
In honor of anniversary, the hotel offers ‘Agatha Christie Afternoon Tea’ in its special English Tea Room. The tea ceremonies will be held from 12 to 19 September 2010.
Ceremony participants will be able to taste sweets, invented by pastry chef Fabien Ecuvillon - a passionate fan of Agatha Christie. The dessert menu includes: "At Betram’s Hotel" seed cupcake, "Red Signal " raspberry mousse, "Death on the Nile" coffee cake in the form of a boat, lemon tartlets "Evil under the sun", a variety of jams and teas, among which is, of course, chamomile tea-
one of Miss Marple’s favourites. After the ceremony, guests will receive a copy of ‘Agatha Christie, An Autobiography’ signed by her grandson.
Those who are lucky enough to visit the tea party on September 19, will meet with John Curran, author of "Agatha Christie's Secret Notebooks". The book was inspired by visits to the Agatha Christie estate, where John had the opportunity to explore 73 manuscripts of the Queen of Crime.
