Today, Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced a debut for its brand – Westin Hotels & Resorts – in Hamburg. Starwood and Arabella Hospitality Group have officially agreed to open Westin Hamburg hotel in 2012. Designed by Herzog and de Meuron – two world renowned Switz architects – the hotel is part of the Elbe Philharmonic plan - one of Germany's most ambitious and long-awaited projects. The complex is planned to become one of Hamburg's major samples of architecture. Located in the middle of the posh HafenCity block, the complex will feature a broad range of options for food and nightlife sophisticates.

This ultra-modern 244-room 10-story hotel is good for both business and leisure travelers. It has 39 suites, each featuring a Westin-Heavenly Bed and a swimming pool. About 830 square meters of the hotel's space are occupied by meeting areas, including 8 conference rooms, all equipped by state-of-the-art technical devices. According to Wolfgang M. Neumann, Arabella's executive officer, this new sight will attract tourists from around Germany and abroad.
