There are a lot of old buildings in the city; one of the most spectacular manors is Colombischlossle. The beautiful villa was built in the mid19th century and is made in a rather unusual architectural style. Experts treat its architecture style as a unique combination of classic English medieval and Tudor Gothic. In a remote area of the old town there is the Schlossberg tower, its height is 35 meters. It was built in 2002; there is a great viewing platform on the top of it. Schlossberg tower allows estimating the full panorama of the city, while other observation platforms provide only parts of it.

The very first mention of the fortress dates back to the end of the 8th century. This building is a true landmark of Frogner, a historic neighborhood of the Norwegian capital.
