If your child is mesmerized by underwater world’s inhabitants, then you should definitely visit at least one of oceanariums in the North of Spain. Sea animals will swim ten centimeters from you behind a thick and absolutely transparent glass. You will see stingrays and sharks, and other more friendly, but not less beautiful sea residents.

If you are going to San-Sebastian, then certainly go to the amusement park, after you’ve been to the oceanarium. The park is located on Igueldo Mountain. It does not only have a variety of entertainments from Chamber of Horrors to Swiss rollercoaster, but also an amazing view. By the way, here you will be able to touch the history – an ancient cable railway and other rides are intact since the park was open almost one hundred years ago. Grownups won’t be bored here either. Then it is time to visit the Museum for Science and Technology «Eureka!», that is located here, in San-Sebastian. The exposition is worth paying maximum attention to. Don’t be surprised, if your kid asks to come back here again. Using realistic simulators, the children can ride a race car, a fighter or a submarine. In another hall, you can discover the secrets of the human body and conduct exciting experiments in a laboratory. The Museum has a planetarium and a unique arboretum to offer. The children will learn a lot here!

You can also dive into history, visiting the caves. Ancient natural creations will amaze your imagination. In Posalagua you will find stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes and sizes. In Santimamine and Ekain caves you will remember our great ancestors when you see cave paintings tens of thousands of years old. In the Dinosaur Theme Park in La Rioja, you can virtually meet the most ancient inhabitants of the Earth. The theme choice is not random – million years ago a lot of ancient raptors lived on this land, which was proved by multiple archeological finds.

Visit the Cabarceno Zoo near Santander to see the modern representatives of fauna in the natural habitat. Railway fans should go to Azpeitia. The Basque Railway Museum, located in this San-Sebastian suburb, welcomes everybody not only to see the exposition, but to go for a ride on a train, driven by a real locomotive. Though it is only open from April until October on weekends and holidays. Take your kid to the International Puppet Center in Tolosa near San-Sebastian to see about fifteen hundred theatre dolls from all around the globe.
