Yellowstone National Park is an attraction of world’s importance. It was established in 1872 and is the world’s oldest reserve. Yellowstone park spans an area of 8983 square kilometres and extends to the US states of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. This territory is known for the diversity of flora and fauna and is the location of large geysers and unique geological features.
There exists a wide road network, the length of some of the roads is several hundred kilometers, so it is very convenient to travel great distances. The park derives its name after Yellowstone lake, the largest mountain lake in the USA. Yellowstone National park is a real paradise for tourists. There are several excellent museums, campsites and information centers here. Interesting excursions are organized for those who wish to see hot springs and mountain ranges, caves and waterfalls, of which there are about 300 in the reserve.
The most famous geyser, named ‘Old Faithful’ is 56 meters high, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone remains the most breathtaking sight inside the park. Rainbow pools are also remarkable and unique sights. Their magnificent coloration is caused by various types of the heat-loving bacteria, which change their colour at different depths. Animals living in the reserve, have long become accustomed to the visitors. So you can see antelope, deer, black bears, and a variety of bird species during your tour.
