Monument to the Brave, Serbia

An unusual Monument to the Brave is located in the Serbian village of Ostra. It is also a vivid reminder of the communist period. It was built in honor of Serbian soldiers. A bloody battle between Serbian partisans and German troops took place here in 1944. Almost the entire partisan detachment died during the battle. But it was possible to liberate the nearby city of Čačak from invaders thanks to the bravery of its soldiers.

The monument is located on the top of a small hill. A wonderful panoramic view of the nearby settlements opens from its adjacent territory. Locals continue to honor the memory of their heroes after many years. You can always see fresh flowers near the monument. Various festive events are held next to it on the days of military holidays.
