Changi International Airport is the main airport in Singapore and a large air hub in the Southeastern region. The air hub is located in the territory of the namesake business district, 17 km from the business center of the city. The airport was built in 1981 and is not only a large center of air transportation. Every year, it serves over 45 million people. Also, the airport is a large center of cargo traffic. It also contributes much to the national economy. The airport was built near the military airbase in Changi, in the eastern part of the island. At the airport, there are three passenger terminals, a budget terminal for low-cost companies, and a terminal for VIP passengers. Three air-strips serve airplanes. Passenger terminals are united, so passengers can easily move between them on travelators, by Skytrain, or by foot. You can move between remote terminals and Terminal 2 by taking a shuttle transfer.
From the airport, you can travel to Singapore and its suburbs by train, bus, taxi, limos, and transfers. From the airport, you can also travel to the city by the following buses: 24, 36, 34, 110, 27, 53, 858. Bus stops and taxi ranks are located near all the major terminals (T1, T2, T3).
