A much more recent, but no less attractive religious monument is the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Anne erected in the late 16th century. Important local fortifications are the towers named after St. Francis and St. Mark. Interestingly, the latter is part of the city defensive system even today. Guests of the city should definitely walk along a picturesque port area. The City Wall that had repeatedly protected the city from pirates and invaders in the Middle Ages stretches along the beautiful promenade. Many picturesque streets begin in this place, a walk along which would also give great pleasure.
Speaking about Agropoli's sights, it is also necessary to mention its wonderful nature. The amazing marine parks of Infreschi and Santa Maria Castellabate attract thousands of outdoor enthusiasts every year. During a walk through picturesque places, you can see beautiful caves, marvelously beautiful lavender groves, as well as rare plant species and typical inhabitants of these areas - martens, boar, partridges, foxes and golden eagles. The national parks have their own historic sites - medieval towers and ruins of fortifications.
