Well, it's worth mentioning a few more museums that would be of interest to every tourist. For example, the Gandhi Smriti Museum dedicated to the last days of Mahatma Gandhi - it was here that he spent his last five months before he was killed at the end of January 1948. "The Martyr's Column" was erected in the very place where the prominent public figure was shot dead. Another museum is dedicated to the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi - this is the National Gandhi Museum where one can find a rich collection of items related to Indian politics - books (about 35 thousand manuscripts are collected in the library), personal belongings, newspapers, paintings. Visitors can see the clothes Gandhi wore at the time of his associational in 1948 - they say that it still smells of blood.
The Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum is no less remarkable for exploring local culture and history. The cultural institution is the residence of the former Prime Minister of India. Here you can see personal belongings of the Nehru-Gandhi family, including photographs. A special focus is placed on the life of the man of outstanding personality. The spot where the politician died at the hands of his own Sikh bodyguards in 1984 is marked in the garden. The Nehru Memorial Museum is dedicated to Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira's father. Here, tourists have the opportunity to find out how the independence movement was born in India.
