In Bolton there are attractions for all tastes; Smithills Hall is very popular among those fond of talking walks to the historical places. Built in the 15th century, today it is one of the oldest estates in the North West of England. During the reconstruction of this ancient manor, a number of pristine medieval elements was preserved; in 1963 an interesting museum was opened in the historic building. Among its exhibits suits of local residents which have been popular hundreds years ago can be seen, as well as other various household items. On the estate there is another interesting monument - the church of the 15th century, in which an old pipe-body is stored.
Bolton never ceases to attract sports fans; in the city there is the famous Reebok stadium. The opening took place in 1997, and it is designed for 28,000 spectators. In this modern stadium, which is one of the most beautiful and largest in the country, soccer matches and other sporting events are regularly hosted. Also, the stadium is the venue for the charity exhibitions and various cultural events.
