The prestigious apart-hotel Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott is also one of the legendary historical landmarks of London. The building of the hotel was constructed in the 17th century. Initially, it was owned by Lord Chetwynd. Later, the luxurious palace was bought by the Duke of Cumberland, but he was not the last owner of the building and soon the Duke of Gloucester became the owner of the magnificent palace. In 1806, the palace was purchased by Lord Grosvenor. It was decided to name the hotel after him. The building, which is currently known as Millennium Hotel London Mayfair , was a witness to many important historic events. The luxurious 18th-century mansion, which is nowadays occupied by the hotel, belonged to the Duchess of Kendal. This was the first building where the news about the victory of Wellington over Napoleon was announced. The unique historic residence has kept its genuine design.
