One of the most beautiful historic buildings of Landshut is the Palace of Etzdorf. It is located in the heart of the city and is a striking monument in the Rococo style. The main feature of the building remains its ornate façade. According to historical records in the city, this palace was built in 1745. One of the wealthy barons gave this palace to his wife. Now the historical building is run by one of the city organizations. It is impossible to evaluate its interior, but everyone can look at the original appearance.
An equally impressive building is the Palace Pettenkofer. This palace can be seen not far from the town hall. Its construction began in 1926 and lasted almost 30 years. This palace was built for one of the wealthy town’s person who was engaged in scientific activities. He made the plan of his future home independently. The palace was very harmonious and expressive. Until the end of the 19th century, the palace was privately owned, and now it houses the city court.
The city of Zeligenthal, which was founded in 1232, is also preserved in the city. Until the middle of the 18th century the image of this monastery was constantly changing. However, for the last 200 years it has remained practically unchanged. The monastic complex is quite large and multifaceted. An old Romanesque church was preserved in it. Also, there are several burial chambers of famous residents of the city on the territory of the monastery.
