The tiny town of Le Bourget is ready to offer some interesting places for fans of tours. The main symbol of the city is the Air and Space Museum. The museum opened in 1919 is now the oldest cultural center of its kind in the world. The museum has changed its location three times and has been occupying its present building since 1974. The cultural center can be found at the old Le Bourget airport. The new building has managed to accommodate the maximum number of exhibits. Now the museum offers several interesting themed rooms with thoughtfully selected exhibits. One of them houses a collection dedicated to the birth of aviation, and the other hall is dedicated to the history of airships and balloons.
For almost a hundred years of operating, the museum has collected tens of thousands of exhibits, including beautiful models of old aircraft, rare aviation equipment and exhibits belonging to the periods of the First and Second World Wars. Much of the exhibits are presented in the open air, visitors can see models of the most famous and legendary aircraft in the world. In total, the museum's collection has more than 120,000 exhibits, more than 180 aircraft of various characteristics.
It is very convenient to explore the town's attractions on foot. On one of the central streets, you can see the beautiful church Église Saint-Nicolas erected in the first half of the 18th century. Over the course of numerous military battles, the church was destroyed several times but still retained its unique historical charm. It is noteworthy that it was built on the foundation of an older temple, which was located in this place in the 15th century.
