Sri Siva Subrahmanya Swami temple is the most famous sight of the city and its symbol. This is the biggest building of this type and it looks like a huge colorful pyramid rich decorated in religious ornament. The height of the temple estimates 30 meters and its halls are full of wonderful statues picturing Indian gods. Opposite to the temple is opened one of the local markets, where tourists can purchase memorable souvenirs and jewelry.
Nadatola Beach is traditionally the most beloved place of rest for tourists. Here you can also participate in the organization of excursions to distinct villages, visit the garden of orchids, and take a ride on a boat along the coastal line, or simply rent a scuba and explore rich underwater life. The most picturesque place is the Nausori region as here you will see rich woods, fast mountain creeks, and ice brooks. Nausori is a real paradise on Earth that attracts people so much that you will not want to return to urban life. Here you can also visit the so called “Garden of a Sleeping Giant” that contains large collections of exotic plants, flowers and trees. The big part of this botanic garden is dedicated to orchids – overall more than 2,000 orchid types are present here. When you get tired, take some rest in one of cafes or tea houses that are built right between the spacious hothouses. Tourists, who enjoy shopping activities, will be happy to visit one of several markets and trading pavilions that sell absolutely everything – from refined seafood to national costumes and souvenirs.
