Numerous religious sites built at the founding of the city remained safe. An excellent example is an ancient Silkeborg Kirke. They used red brick for the construction of the church. A tiled roof of emerald color makes an original contrast to its strict walls. Massive wooden doors, beautiful antique furniture, chandeliers and other elements of pristine design preserved there.
No less interesting is Mariehoj Kirke. It will definitely surprise visitors with its non-standard design. This church was built at the turn of the 19th and 20 century, as well, and is distinguished by a strict appearance. Behind its strict facade lies an incredibly modern interior. Historical finishing elements are surprisingly combined with fashionable design innovations. The spacious hall with a high ceiling is lit by huge designer chandeliers nowadays. During the last refurbishment, the church was beautifully decorated in wood. Unusual multi-level balconies were installed in its hall. Not every old church can boast such balconies.
