Travelers keen on modern art will find it amusing not only to attend Vienna galleries but also to use the city’s metro. Many outstanding modern artists worked on the design of some stations. Volkstheater is considered one of the most attractive. Famous artist Anton Lehmden created a unique mosaic for this station. The mosaic covers an area of 360 square meters. Westbahnhof station offers one more masterpiece - 55 Steps through Europe, a magnificent work by Adolf Frohner that is dedicated to the evolution of a human. I order to see the work in detail, you will need to make no less than 55 steps as the total length of the work is 40 meters. Visit other metro stations to see eye-catching graffiti by Oswald Oberhuber or, if you’re lucky enough, even find unique video installations by Peter Kogler.
