Linz couldn't do without art festivals. Of primary interest is a popular festival held throughout Europe called Lange Nacht der Museen. Particularly in Linz, the event takes place in early October. At this time, cultural institutions of the city are open until late at night, special tours are organized for tourists so that they can visit all the interesting museums and do not miss anything. The combination of art and gastronomy is considered to be ideal. A great example in this regard is the Wein und Kunst, which is held in early September on the streets of the Old Town (Altstadt). The best wines from over eighty-five producers are presented at the event, art exhibitions (jewelry, ceramics, paintings) open within its framework.
To get acquainted with the local culture, many tourists travel to Linz in early July when the Festival der Regionen, the largest event in Austria reflecting modern culture, is held here. At this time, various regions of the country demonstrate their authenticity through tastings of local food, dance and theatrical performances, music concerts. The main streets of the city, in particular, Altstadt, serve as the venues. At the end of September, the Kürbisfest takes place throughout the entire state of Upper Austria. Visitors are invited to try a variety of dishes (from soups to spirits), which have one thing in common - pumpkin. An exhibition of artworks made of the "hero of the day" opens in the city center.
