There is an interesting religious attraction in the city - the beautiful Skattkammaren Cathedral. Its construction has begun in 1260 and ended only in the early 15th century. The beautiful cathedral is one of the oldest religious buildings of the country. On the territory of the cathedral there are tombs of prominent historical figures and representatives of royal families. The golden tomb of St. Eric attracts special interest of tourists. One of the towers of the cathedral is converted into a museum, which holds an interesting collection of national costumes and decorations.
Speaking of outstanding cultural institutions we should mention the Linnemuseet. In addition to personal belongings of Carl Linnaeus, the exhibition includes a rich collection of old books. The huge interest attracts Linnetradgarden Botanical Garden located next to the mansion. The garden was founded by the scientist in 1741; currently, there are about 1,300 plants in its territory. The beautiful garden is divided into several thematic areas; there is an interesting mobile vegetable garden, flower garden and a garden of exotic plants.
