The Roman Catholic church of Our Lady of Guadalupe is an icon and the most popular sport of tourist interest in the city of Puerto Vallarta. Though the church is quite a new building it has already survived a reconstruction. The building of the church was finished in 1941 after a 12 year long construction, however in 1985 a massive earthquake destroyed a major part of the building. Owing to efforts of modern architects the church has been rebuilt. The church is known among tourists for its Emperor crown shaped cupola.
The Malecon seaside is the most buzzing part of the city stretched along the seaside for several kilometers. The Malecon seaside is exactly the place of holding ethnic fests and fairs. Besides this is a perfect place for hiking for foreign tourists to embrace the glory of the city. The scenic seaside is decorated with many works of statuary arts by famous artists. In 2002 the seaside area was destroyed by nature and then restored anew. The area locates numerous entertaining establishments and plazas.
