Travel Guide to Zug, Switzerland

The center of the eponymous Swiss canton is situated on the foothill of Zugerberg Mount on the shore of picturesque Zugerzee approximately 425m above the sea level. The nature of Switzerland is very picturesque, and Zug neighborhoods perfectly expose this fact in all its glory, so there’s no wonder why this place is often called a true paradise for tourists.
Zug Canton has one distinct feature – it has the most liberal tax legislation. This fact determines the presence of a large number of wealthy people. However, you will not often see this luxury in the look of residents.
Start your acquaintance with this town from making an evening promenade. It’s really hard to find words to describe the glory sunset above the lake. However, the beauty of the embankment is no less striking. You will also find here small streets with original buildings, which are generously decorated with all sorts of ornaments. The pedestrian streets of the town are so wonderful that you can walk here tirelessly. Zytturm Tower with its clock is the symbol of Zug. The embankment is also a location of a small zoo with an amazing collection of ibises. Even though this town is rather small, it features a large number of museums. Museum in der Burg (in the fortress) is particularly interesting. However, Museums of Africa, Fishing, Tile Manufacturing and Ancient History, as well as the local art gallery are also very interesting and informative.
