This is one of the oldest cities in Scandinavia that attracts travelers by tremendously large choice of attractions. Don’t walk far away from the cathedral as one more religious attraction is located near it. This is Holy Trinity Church built in the middle of the 14th century. Uppsala Castle is also a sight of particular interest of tourists. The castle was built by the order of Gustav Vasa in the late 16th century. The castle has witnessed numerous important historical events. You will learn more about the castle and its history if you make an excursion on its cabinets and halls. Here have been signed important documents, have been resolved political issues and have been conducted negotiations with heads of countries.
The northern part of the city is the location of the district known as Old Uppsala. Here visitors will see many old buildings, temples, and ruins the market square built in the 5th century. Nature fans should visit Linnaeus Garden. Here the world-renowned professor of medicine, who has been also called the King of flowers, has been conducting his experiments.
