Built on top of ancient Roman temple, Cathedral is also one of the most important places to visit. The very first church in its place dated back to 11th century, while the Gothic building was founded late in 13th century; it has preserved to these days and is admired by tourists. Cathedral keeps a lot of unique artifacts including five centuries old cathedral pulpit and a Gothic font.
After admiring the Cathedral, it's worth to visit Place Kleber, which is the biggest square in the city. It was named after General Jean-Baptiste Kleber. The palace was recently open after throughout reconstruction and today everyone can walk through richly decorated halls of the palace. Kammerzell House is one of the most impressive landmarks of 16th century. Nowadays it hosts a very popular national restaurant. Eglise Saint Paul, Strasbourg

» The 76-meter church is distinguished by two thin spires. They are thin not by accident and emphasize the height and significance of the construction.

Palais Rohan, Strasbourg

» The building that has a cultural and historical value is important for both the city and the region. Upon the order of the Cardinal, the residence suiting his status was built for his needs in the middle of the 19th century.
»  The palace required a huge area. That is why the residential block was demolished.
»  Many heirs of de Rohan, prince de Soubise, preferred to live here. Members of the Royal Family also stayed here. In 2009, the audience with French and US Presidents was held here.
»  In the palace, there were university classes and museum exhibitions at one time.
»  The Rohan Palace was damaged significantly by the bombing (1944-1945). It was restored only in 50 years.
»  The entrance dome is supported by big columns. Outer walls are made of pink and yellow sandstone blocks. The interior is decorated with sculptures and flowerpots.
»  On one side of the palace, its facade points at the river embankment.
»  In the rooms, you can see collectible canvasses of artists from the Museum of Fine Arts. At the upper level of the construction, there are also pieces of art: ceramic items, delicate accessories, antique furniture. The museum is proud of winding dolls.

Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune Church, Strasbourg

» The church was built in the 7th century.
»  It is the last shelter of rich and important persons. There are underground crypts.
»  Frescoes, wall and altar paintings have been also preserved. In the temple, there is the sonorous Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune organ of the 18th century.
»  The building was built in two stages. The part of it was completed in the 7th century. The rest had been constructed for 200 years.
»  It is faced with red sandstone. At the entrance, there is the statue of the hermit monk Eugene de Foucauld. He was canonized by the Roman Catholic Church.
»  The copper dome is 50 m high. Frescoes and paintings on the altar have been preserved.
»  The vault is supported by carved pillars. The main theme of them is Biblical scenes about the Apostle Mark fighting with a dragon.
»  The organ was specifically ordered for the church. The room is illuminated with a big chandelier.
»  Strasbourg was a part of both France and Germany due to political disagreements. Catholic Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune Church belonged to different countries too. So, both Catholics and Protestants consider the church as the House of God.
»  It was blessed by Pope Leo IX in 1053.

Oeuvre Notre-Dame Museum, Strasbourg

» The museum is two spacious constructions of 14th and 16th centuries. They are linked by a gallery.
»  The Musee de l’Oeuvre Notre-Dame (of the Mother of God) is aimed at telling about the foundation and development of the Cathуdrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg.
