The second largest city of the country, it was founded in the middle of the 17th century. Ponce has been named the "national treasure", as its territory is rich in historical and cultural monuments.

However, Tibes Ceremonial Center remains the main attraction of Ponce. This is a reconstructed village of Arawak Indians. They were the first settlers of the island, so much attention and time are devoted to the study of life of these people.
