Six Senses Will Open a Hotel in Italian Castle

News Have you ever dreamt of spending a vacation in a real castle? Six Senses gives this opportunity to all travelers. The popular hotel company announced the expansion of its portfolio. Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas will open a hotel in Umbria, Italy, in a historical castle and old borgo buildings that are traditional for this region. The caste is charmingly nestled in Antognolla, a peaceful and tranquil neighborhood.

At the moment, Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas operates 18 hotels and 29 spas scattered among 21 countries. The new hotel in Antognolla invites guests to enjoy rural life. The castle hotel is located among beautiful olive groves, vineyards, and picturesque hills with cypress groves. The hotel complex consists of the castle, estate, and borgo buildings. This upscale property will have all key values of the Six Senses hotels and will focus on sustainability.

The Six Senses castle hotel in Antognolla will feature 79 branded residences and 71 rooms, a spa center, organic farm, 18-hole golf course, cookery school, equestrian center, and various cultural options for guests. The hotelier has enough space to locate all these offerings because the castle comes with an adjacent 540-hectare site. A beautiful forest near the hotel is perfect for taking a stroll and enjoying the solitude. Six Senses plans to operate this hotel as a year-round destination.

Set to open in 2023, Six Senses Antognolla is located not far from Perugia (20 kilometers). Such natural attractions of the region as the Monte Tezio and Lake Trasimeno are close to the new hotel. Even though the castle is built in a rural area, it is easy to reach it from Florence (1 hour 45 minutes) and Umbria International Airport (25 minutes).

Castello di Antognolla is a fantastic choice for everyone interested in the history and heritage of Italy. This 12th-century castle shares the site with a 10th-century Benedictine monastery and some ruins of an ancient Roman settlement. In the Middle Ages, it was a residence of noble families of Perugia and had to endure many sieges and attacks. In the coming years, everyone will be able to stay at this place that still keeps the memory of the centuries-old history. Six Senses promises that it will be very exciting to stay at this hotel due to multiple activities suitable for adults and children. The hotelier plans to organize various masterclasses, participation in traditional local celebrations, multiple craft workshops, food and wine samplings, sporting and leisure activities.
