Seven Urban Wonders of the World by Hilton

News No idea what destination to choose for your next vacation? Hilton Hotels & Resorts has decided to make it simpler for travelers to choose the right destination and presented its new Seven Urban Wonders of the World list. It this list, the internationally famous hotelier decided to gather the most notable destinations that may attract modern experience-led travelers.

The wonders were identified with the help of influencers and crowdsourcing. They created a short list of notable destinations. After travelers around the world aged 18-53 had made their choice, the data was transferred to LikeWhere, a company that specializes in intuitive travel tech. It analyzed the destinations and scored them, using such criteria as architecture, cuisine, culture, heritage, entertaining activities, diversity, and “Instagrammability”.

So, here is the list of the Seven Urban Wonders of the World. It looks like it is high time to book a hotel in Abu Dhabi as its Louvre a true eye candy. Opened in 2017, Abu Dhabi’s Louvre has quickly become one of the best art galleries in the world and home to many impressive installations and exhibitions. The next urban wonder was easy to predict. Sydney Opera House in Australia is one of the most famous landmarks in the world. Travelers ranked very high the iconic building, particularly praising its spectacular location. Sydney Harbour Bridge offers a very “Instagram friendly” view of the Opera House.

When booking a hotel in Tokyo, travelers plan to visit many local markets, and Tsukiji Fish Market is definitely one of them. As food and flea markets are on a rise, modern travelers simply cannot fail to visit the legendary fish market. As the market is relocating to a new place, it will be particularly interesting to visit it right after reopening. Tsukiji is not the only market in the list, and it has a worthy competitor – Camden Market in London. This incredibly popular food and flea market has always attracted young travelers.

Shanghai is present in the list of urban wonders with The Bund. Also known as the “museum of buildings”, this mile-long waterfront area is incredibly interesting to explore. Albertina in Vienna is the next “must visit” destination. A fine combination of old and new was one of the keys to success. Albertina is open in a former Habsburg palace with modern extensions. Perhaps, that made the landmark one of the most posted on Instagram. The last but not the least, Temple of Street Markets in Hong Kong is one of the most exciting places to explore. It is a vibrant area that perfectly combines culture, food, and crafts.
