London is a Better Destination Than New York for Travelers

A new interactive guide that compares almost 100 different aspects of travel claims that London is a better destination for tourists than New York. The guide, which is named Bang For Your Buck, was developed by London Pass, a group of travel experts that specialize in evaluating the attractiveness of destinations by analyzing such categories as accommodation, transport, tourist attractions, food and drink, environment, costs, and many more.

London and New York are widely known among the most famous destinations in the world. While both the cities are very close in rankings, the British capital still wins in such categories as tourist attractions, accommodation, transport, and environment. The guide thoroughly analyzes exciting points about each of the cities and even marks some sites that are recommended for travelers.

London Pass used data from different sources to complete their guide. Some of these sources are the Office for National Statistics, World Bureau, World Weather and Climate Information, the World Cities Culture Forum, the US Census Bureau, and many more. The comparison between The Big Apple and The Big Smoke includes such aspects as air quality, traffic congestion, number of city taxis, hours of sunshine, number of five-star hotels, rainfall, number of airports, number of museums, average costs of particular items, number of cinemas, and green space.

London hotels sure do not feel any lack in the number of guests as the British capital is currently the second most visited city in the world. That said, it beats New York in many aspects, especially those that are related to the accommodation category. London has two times more hotels and Airbnbs, five times more hostels, and three times more five-star hotels. London is also famous for its “magical powers” to attract travelers like a magnet.

As expected, London has more museums than New York. The next factor will, however, surprise many – London, actually, has more sunshine and fewer rainfalls than New York. The sixth most frequently visited city in the world, New York has two times more theaters, more restaurants and bars. The Big Apple also has higher ranked street food, so foodie travelers may still prefer it to the UK’s capital. While the result of this comparison looks quite interesting, there is only one way to prove whether it is correct or no – to visit both the cities and make an own choice in favor of one.
