According to the newest data published by Tourico Holidays, Asia Pacific hotel bookings have grown significantly this year. The increase estimates 93% compared to the same period in 2016. The increase of some destinations within the region is nothing but spectacular. For example, the leader of the rating, Indonesia, enjoys the growth of bookings of 111% year on year.
Hotels in China have their bookings grow by 88% year on year, while Singapore has reached the growth of 79%. Malaysia and Australia hotels have their bookings up by 79% and 78% respectively compared to the same period of 2016. One more country with the sharp increase, Thailand, has its bookings grow by 39% this year. The result is fantastic, so it’s particularly interesting to see what source markets contribute to such success. At a glance, it may seem that Chinese travellers are the main reason, but that is not true.
In fact, nearly all main source markets in the world contribute to the popularity of Asia Pacific hotels. For example, North America bookings added 53% in total. The United States alone have their bookings grow by 46% year-on-year, while Canada’s bookings grew by 98%. South America was somewhat less active the increase of Asia Pacific bookings from this region is 64%. Europe, in its turn, is on par with Canada with the growth of 96%. Travellers from the United Kingdom are particularly interested in visiting Asia Pacific region their bookings rise by 95% year-on-year. Scandinavian countries provided 68% more bookings. Finally, the Middle East is the least active with the growth of 24%.
Domestic Asia Pacific travel is also on the rise with the increase of 107%. Moreover, experts see no signs of a slowdown in such a fantastic growth. Instead, they recommend hotels of the region to expect the growing demand. Tourico Holidays itself has added many rooms to the inventory and has increased the number of hotel partners in the region by 40%.
According to the company, they await strong demand for hotels in Asia Pacific and keep adding new and new hotels to their portfolio to offer a wide range of services and rentals.
